Dr. Doug Knueven

Dr. Doug Knueven received his veterinary degree from Ohio State University in 1987 and has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Beaver County area of Pennsylvania, north of Pittsburgh, ever since. Dr. Knueven owns and operates Beaver Animal Clinic, a full service animal hospital, and shares clinical duties with three associates.
. . . After practicing conventional veterinary medicine for several years, Dr. Knueven enrolled in the 150-hour acupuncture course offered by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (I.V.A.S.). He received I.V.A.S. certification in 1995 and immediately put this new knowledge to work. Dr. Knueven has since expanded his knowledge of holistic veterinary care by completing the 150-hour Professional Course in Veterinary Homeopathy offered by Dr. Richard Pitcairn and the 150-hour animal chiropractic course offered by Options for Animals. He has also taken the Veterinary Chinese Herbology course from The Healing Oasis Wellness Center.
. . . In 1998, Dr. Knueven introduced Pittsburgh area veterinarians to the use of veterinary acupuncture by lecturing on the subject at the Western Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association. That same year, he also assisted teaching veterinarians at the I.V.A.S. certification course in Calgary, Canada. He has lectured on various aspects of holistic pet care to many interested groups.
